He’s contributed to sites like Digital Trends, Business Insider, and WIRED.The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are almost here.

Announced at Apple’s September 2026 “Sunrise and shine” event alongside the iPhone Duo and other new gear, the two upgraded phones feature the faster A20 Pro processor with more GPU power as well as more neural cores for AI-related tasks, plus some welcome improvements to the camera. The phones will arrive on Friday, September 18th, and preordering one is never a bad idea if you want to ensure you get the color and storage capacity configuration you’re seeking. Speaking of, preorders are officially open. The 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 for the 256GB model, and goes all the way up to $2,399 for the version with 2TB of storage. The larger 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299 for 256GB, with the 2TB model costing $2,499. Both phones are available in four colors: deep black, silver, glacier, and burgundy. At the time of publication, the only way to preorder an unlocked version of the Pro or Pro Max is directly from Apple.

You have some options if you don’t want to pay the full price upfront. Financing through Apple is an option (36 monthly payments with zero percent APR), and the new phones are also eligible for the recently-announced Apple Upgrade program. You can also trade in your existing phone for up to $885 in credit towards the cost of the new phone, with carriers offering additional credits.Apple iPhone 18 Pro$1199$1199$1199 at Apple (18 Pro)$1299 at Apple (18 Pro Max)The likes of Best Buy and Walmart only have the carrier-locked versions listed at the start of the preorder phase. Best Buy is offering the 18 Pro through Verizon or AT&T, along with the Pro Max tied to Verizon or AT&T.

Walmart is offering the 18 Pro through Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, as well as the Pro Max with T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T.RelatedWhere to preorder the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4Where to preorder the Apple AirPods 5AT&T will offer to cover the cost of an iPhone 18 Pro via billing credits paid back to you over 36 months if you trade in an iPhone 14 or newer. You’ll also need to sign up for the AT&T Extra plan, with slightly lower discounts for less expensive plans. You can find these options on Apple’s checkout page, with the option to pay the $99 difference between the Pro and Pro Max out of pocket.T-Mobile is offering the iPhone 18 Pro for free by way of bill credits when you transfer your number or trade in a qualifying phone on the Experience Beyond plan. The credits aren’t as generous as AT&T’s offer if you’re an existing customer already, with only the iPhone 16 and newer covering the cost of a new phone, but it’s very similar if you’re new to T-Mobile.The Verizon deal is fairly straightforward.

The Simplicity Pro plan, which comes to a total of $80 per month if you’re switching from another carrier, includes a free iPhone 18 Pro, with the option to upgrade your phone after one year. Like other carriers, the “free” phone is paid off to you via monthly bill credits, so you’ll need to stick with the carrier for three years to get the full value.Follow topics and authors from this story to see more like this in your personalized homepage feed and to receive email updates.Brad BourqueAppleApple Event 2026GadgetsMobilePhonesTechWe unfolded the iPhone DuoJacob KastrenakesSep 11Where to preorder the Apple AirPods 5Brad BourqueSep 11Apple addresses iPhone Duo copycatsThomas RickerSep 11Most PopularApple addresses iPhone Duo copycatsSamsung says ‘Tim Cook’ bought a Galaxy FoldArizona’s lifeline for chip manufacturing is drying upOpenAI’s sly mathematical breakthrough sends a chill through academiaMeta’s Muse AI works and creeps me outAdvertiser Content FromThis is the title for the native ad
