The first question the authority addressed was whether travellers need a visa or an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) before entering Canada.

On processing times for a visitor visa, the authority noted that applicants must submit a complete application alongside all required documents, and that processing durations can vary depending on individual circumstances.3. Regarding documentation, IRCC confirmed that a digital copy of a valid passport or travel document is required, and crucially, the document must remain valid for at least six months from the intended travel date.
Those who apply online will receive a personalised checklist of documents based on their specific situation.4. The fourth question tackled a common point of confusion: Whether visitors are permitted to work or study during their stay.
