Newcastle fought back from two goals down as Jacob Ramsey’s late strike rescued a 2-2 against Bournemouth at St James’ Park. Bournemouth appeared on track for their first win under Marco Rose after an early strike from James Tavernier and a Malick Thiaw own goal, only to blow a late lead for the third straight game. Harvey Barnes halved the deficit in stunning style when he cut inside and curled home just 27 seconds after the kick-off following Bournemouth’s second, before substitute Ramsey found the corner to continue Newcastle’s unbeaten start under Matthias Jaissle. Bournemouth were the better side overall, attempting 17 shots compared to only eight from the lacklustre hosts, but Ramsey’s 88th-minute leveller follows crucial stoppage-time goals conceded in their games against Manchester City and Everton.
The Cherries have lost seven points from winning positions this season, the most of any Premier League side, as their win continues for a first victory under head coach Rose.
