Rebounding from a previous downturn on Thursday, August 26—when sell-offs lowered banking equities by 1.41 percent alongside industrial and consumer shares during an 885.02 million share exchange valued at N28.3 billion—equity trading in Nigeria rallied during the Monday session. Investor wealth expanded by N228.25 billion as renewed buying momentum swept through several primary market segments. Consequently, overall market capitalization surged from N162.16 trillion to N162.39 trillion, while the primary All-Share Index gathered 352.24 basis points, climbing 0.14 percent from its starting level of 249,804.56 to finish at 250,156.80.

Sectoral performance reflected widespread optimism across most boards, heavily underpinned by financial and manufacturing equities. The banking index registered the sharpest appreciation at 0.68 percent, with industrial goods following at 0.47 percent, insurance adding 0.33 percent, and consumer goods picking up 0.32 percent. Countering these advances, energy-focused counters retreated as the oil and gas category dipped 0.40 percent, alongside a 0.44 percent pullback in the Lotus Islamic index. Total deal volume reached 574.12 million units negotiated across 68,506 executions, driven principally by Mutual Benefits Assurance with 53.58 million units traded, alongside substantial turnover in Sterling Financial Holdings Company (44.23 million), Guaranty Trust Holding Company (25.85 million), AIICO Insurance (24.38 million), and Access Holdings (22.66 million).

Individual equity movements featured maximum price surges for multiple firms, including SUNU Assurances, NASCON Allied Industries, Omatek Ventures, and Thomas Wyatt Nigeria, which all spiked 10.00 percent to N3.08, N176.00, N1.32, and N2.53 respectively. Further strength was recorded by Critical Minerals Financing Corp rising 9.80 percent to N2.24, Fortis Global Insurance jumping 9.70 percent to N1.81, UPDC increasing 9.68 percent to N3.40, Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals scaling 8.96 percent to N7.30, Transnational Corporation growing 6.78 percent to N37.00, and Oando advancing 4.85 percent to N35.65. On the losing spectrum, Okomu Oil Palm Company tumbled 10.00 percent to N1,276.20, Custodian Investment plunged 9.13 percent to N68.15, Sovereign Trust Insurance slipped 8.64 percent to N2.01, and Haldane McCall contracted 8.33 percent to N3.30. Additional pullbacks hit Ellah Lakes down 5.39 percent to N7.90, First Holdco falling 5.44 percent to N160.00, International Breweries scaling back 3.50 percent to N9.65, Aradel Holdings shading 1.29 percent to N1,530.00, and United Bank for Africa dropping 0.79 percent to N44.20.

In strategic banking developments linked to capital market participation, United Bank for Africa (UBA) has rolled out credit financing aimed at individual investors targeting the Dangote Petroleum Refinery initial public offering. Account holders received direct electronic communications outlining personal loan allocations capped at N30 million
